This report provides information on where your bookings are coming from; channels, your website, agents or your staff
To open the “Booking Source” report, select it from Reports in the the submenu
Filters Section
At the top of the page you will have filters which are used to run the report
Period
-
Select specific dates using the ‘From’ and ‘To’ date pickers.

Compare Period - This allows the report to be compared to a previous period. It will initially be blank with no period comparison. The options include:

Same period last month: If the period was set from 1st Dec 2020 to
30th Dec 2020, the previous period will be from 1st Nov 2020 to 30th Nov 2020. Or if the period was set from 1st of August 2020 to 30th of October 2020, the previous period would be from 1st of July 2020 to 30th of September 2020

Same period last year: If the period was set from Oct 2020 to Mar 2021, then the previous period would be from Oct 2019 to Mar 2020.

The period can either be related to the dates the bookings were sold on, the date of arrival for the booking or departure date.
Origin
- If set to Bookings Made By then it will limit the display to those agents that are online channels or other agents that actually made the booking through your website booking screen using an agent code.
- If set to Made For then it will include bookings sourced by an agent but entered by the operator (manually) on behalf of the agent.
- You can also choose whether or not to display cancelled bookings in the report results.
Source
This is a multi-select which allows you to choose which sources to include in the report results. The options are:

Online Only - Will show only those records that have been sourced online i.e. a channel booking or a web booking but not back-end bookings

Agent Only - This is dependent on the setting of Origin. If set to Booking Made By then it will only show agent bookings where the agent made the booking online, without assistance of the operator. If set to Made For, it will include agent bookings where the booking was entered on behalf of the agent.

Staff - If selected will show all back-end bookings and direct website bookings. It will exclude bookings entered on behalf of an agent.

Website (table results will display Website Mobile and Website Desktop individually)
Property (Only available for accounts with multiple properties)
This is a searchable multi-select filter that allows you to choose which properties should be included in the results.
Unit Type:
Multi select option where it allows you to choose which unit types should be included in your results.
Export Results
You can choose to export to excel or pdf. The export will match the date showing on the screen i.e. it will export the same records as seen on the screen that is a result of the filters chosen.

Email, Print and Export
You can also choose to email (pdf or csv format), print, and export your results by clicking on the the icons - see image below:
The email, print out and export will match the date showing on the screen
i.e. it will export the same records as seen on the screen that is a result of the filters chosen.
Running the Report
- Accounts with only one property will only show one table of results with the total at the bottom of the table.
- Accounts which have multiple properties the results will appear in tables for each respective property with subtotals.
The report fields are explained as follows

Source - if a sales channel, it will display the channel name eg booking.com. Mobile refers to bookings made via your website using a mobile device with low resolution like a smartphone. Website refers to bookings made via your website using a device with standard resolution eg desktop, laptop or tablet. Self refers to bookings made direct into your PMS via walk ins, phone calls or email requests.

Bookings - the number of bookings in the reporting period along with the percentage breakdown.

Room Nights - the number of rooms x nights for the bookings in the reporting period along with the percentage breakdown.

Revenue - the amount charged to the customer along with the percentage breakdown.
-
Average Rate - the average daily rate which is the revenue divided by the room nights.
Report Totals (Multi Property Accounts)
For accounts which have multiple properties it will list totals for each individual source, as well as the totals for selected properties, and total for all properties.
Graphs
The graphs will display a visual representation of the data in the table of results. The graph results are limited to the top 10 results in the table. You also have the ability to download the graphs individually by clicking on the download icon
Graph Filters
You have the ability to show and hide graphs by using the ‘toggle’ and order the graph from Highest to Lowest or Lowest to Highest.
There are graphs for all the results in the table:

Booking - have the option to be displayed as a Pie, Doughnut or a Bar chart

Room Night - have the option to be displayed as a Pie, Doughnut or a Bar chart

Revenue - have the option to be displayed as a Pie, Doughnut or a Bar chart

Average rate- have the options to be displayed as a Bar or a Line Graph
Compare Period Graphs
Shows the comparison of your current and previous results for Bookings, Room Nights, Revenue and Average Rate:
- Green Bar shows the current searched results
- Purple Bar shows the previous searched results

The comparison graphs can be to be displayed as a ‘Line’ or ‘Bar ’graph which can be changed using the graph filters

A percentage value will display above each source which indicates the difference from the previous period
For instance if you look at the screenshot below for the Bookings graph “Self’ bookings went up 81% but Website Desktop bookings went down 64%
